Grip Protectors are made from Hydro-Turf, the industry acclaimed non-slip protection strips incorporating durable and flexible EVA technology. EVA stands for ethylene vinyl acetate. Also known as poly ethylene vinyl acetate (PEVA), it is the copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate.
The product is processed as a thermoplastics material. Heated to an elevated temperature of 70°C during manufacture, it becomes softer, more pliable and far more flexible than ordinary plastic. After cooling, while these characteristics are retained, the product solidifies creating a highly durable and resilient, dual textured quality.
Its exceptional traction, even when wet, is greatly enhanced by the tread design and distinctive black diamond pads. These high-strength pads absorb moisture and help disperse surface water acting like multiple sponges beneath the weight of a work boot or shoe, maximising grip.
Crucially, Grip Protectors are fixed to vehicle bumpers, steps and footwells using 3M’s industry leading adhesive backing strips for maximum surface adhesion.
